About Multi-Babies.

They were very popular from 1906-1920's both as a cute collectible item and from a social history aspect. There was an awareness, brought on in part by Teddy Roosevelt's speech on Race Suicide, that the white race was doomed because they were not having as many children as the other races. This interest was reflected by a lot of different postcard topics on the subject, one of which manifested itself in the multi-baby cards. But as they grew more popular the different artist began to incorporate more fantasy, folklore and related, until there were many sub-categories.
